Antioxidants for Aging Protection

China Rubber Network Lucent Group's High Quality Industrial Intermediate (AII) Business Department will launch a full range of antioxidants and ozone inhibitors for the aging protection of the rubber industry at the German K Exhibition 2016 held in Dusseldorf, Germany, from October 19 to 26.

The aging process is mainly caused by oxygen, ozone and heat, which will change the properties of vulcanized rubber and gradually cause partial or total damage. The resistance of rubber materials to oxygen, ozone and other reactive substances depends mainly on their basic elastomers and the chemicals added to hinder the destruction process. Unsaturated bonds in rubber molecules (such as carbon-carbon double bond content) react with oxygen and ozone, which will lead to rubber hardening, embrittlement, cracking and fatigue, and ultimately destroy rubber products, so aging protection should be taken for the specific situation in contact.

According to different chemical structures, antioxidants and ozone inhibitors can protect one or more aging processes. Each antioxidant/ozone agent has a specific range of effects for different aging types.
