In recent years, the state has vigorously promoted the development of new chemical materials industry. Many new material enterprises'enthusiasm for technological innovation has been stimulated, and a series of changes have taken place in technological level, innovation ability and industrial scale. However, at present, there are still some core technology constraints, many high-end products are still inadequate supply. To this end, at the 2019 China New Chemical Materials Industry Development Strategy Seminar held in Jining, Shandong Province, experts at the meeting said that the new chemical materials industry should overcome a batch of shortboard technology and seize a batch of high technology to cross the mountain of technology.

Core technology is controlled by others

Li Shousheng, president of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, pointed out that China's new chemical materials industry has overcome difficulties and achieved rapid development, but there are still many shortcomings and shortcomings in the process of development, the core technology is subject to people, and the market is small and decentralized. Compared with the leading international chemical new material enterprises, China's chemical new material enterprises are weak in innovation ability, production technology and equipment mostly rely on importation, and there are common problems such as slow technological updating, inadequate investment in scientific and technological research and development.

At the same time, the supply of many high-end products is still seriously inadequate. Some products such as metallocene polypropylene, polyether ether nitrile, specially modified nylon for engine intake manifold, soluble polytetrafluoroethylene, polyamide thermoplastic elastomer and PVF solar backplane film have not yet been industrialized on a large scale. Especially in the field of electronic chemicals, the key materials needed in the field of electronic information, such as high-purity phosphane special gas, CMP polishing pad materials, are totally dependent on imports. Not only that, but also many new chemical material products have been localized, but the quality of products is still far from that of imported products, which can only meet the needs of middle and low-end. In addition, the operation of some new chemical materials production facilities is not satisfactory, and the products can not be supplied steadily.

Wang Yimin, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Federation of Petrochemical Industry, also mentioned that at present, new chemical materials are still one of the few industries in China's petrochemical industry that can not meet domestic demand due to technical problems. "Compared with developed countries, the core technology level of industrialization in the field of new chemical materials in China lags behind by 10 to 15 years, resulting in the small scale, weak R&D capability and fewer varieties of products of new chemical materials enterprises in China. The weak ability of engineering transformation also restricts the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, leading to backward applied technology research and lack of initiative in product development. Wang Yimin said.

Demand-Oriented Completion of Short Board

"The new chemical materials industry should face the major needs of the country and industry, first of all, to overcome a batch of technology to make up for shortcomings." Li Shousheng stressed that, in light of the major strategic needs of new energy vehicles, rail transit, aerospace, national defense and military industry, the new chemical materials industry should concentrate on filling in the shortcomings and tackling a number of "neck-jamming" technologies, such as high-end polyolefin materials production technologies such as alpha-olefins and polyolefin elastomers, metallocene polyethylene and polypropylene. New type (special) synthetic fibers such as large tow acrylic filament and new type (special) synthetic rubber such as high polarity and high air tightness brominated butyl rubber for meridian tire, etc.

Wang Yimin introduced some specific varieties, such as metallocene polypropylene (mPP), a hot spot in high-end polyolefins. At present, the production of mPP in China is still in the blank. The products needed in the high-end application fields are all imported. The mainstream advanced polypropylene technology in the world is being introduced in China. "However, the traditional Z-N catalysts are still used in these processes. In the aspect of metallocene catalysts participating in the reaction, our country is still in the laboratory research stage and needs to continue to break through." Wang Yimin said.

He also pointed out that in terms of synthetic fibers, we should focus on breaking through the stable production technology of domestic general grade carbon fiber polymerization, spinning and carbonization industry, realizing the independent development and automatic production control of key equipment, solving the preparation technology of domestic para-aramid high purity terephthalic chloride raw materials, solvent recovery and desalination technology in the process of polymerization. The new technology of twin-screw polymerization, the preparation technology of high-strength carbon fibers above T800 and M series high-modulus carbon fibers, heterocyclic aramid fibers (tensile strength greater than 4.5 GPa) and industrialized technology of high-strength high-modulus polyimide fibers (tensile strength greater than 3.8 GPa) were developed.

In terms of synthetic rubber, the industry should develop new bio-based rubber technologies, such as green, efficient and low-cost dandelion rubber extraction technology and equipment, dandelion rubber processing and application technology, high-efficiency and low-cost extraction technology of Eucommia ulmoides gum, high-quality utilization technology of Eucommia ulmoides gum, etc.

Keep up with the front and seize the high point

While conquering the short board technology, the industry should keep up with the international frontier and seize a batch of high-point technology. Li Shousheng pointed out that the new chemical materials industry should strive to form a group of international leading core technologies with independent intellectual property rights. Industry should increase investment in R&D and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, strengthen theoretical research and basic research, vigorously develop high-performance engineering plastics such as polysulfone, polyphenylene sulfone, polyether ether ketone, liquid crystal polymer, as well as high-end electronic chemicals such as electronic special gas, electronic grade wet chemicals, photoresist, electronic paper, and strengthen graphene materials. Research and development and application of 3D printing materials.

Zheng Baoshan, deputy director of the Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Industry Planning, said that in the field of electronic chemicals, efforts should be made to seize the technological highlights, develop products in the four fields of integrated circuits, flat panel displays, new energy batteries and printed circuit boards, and speed up the variety and quality upgrading to meet the needs of electronic products upgrading. In particular, we should focus on the development of high-purity reagents at the level of PB and PT for integrated circuits, electronic gases at the level of 5N and above, photoresist at the level of DUV and EUV, TFT liquid crystal materials, OLED luminescent materials, polarizers for TFT-LCD, raw materials such as TAC films and PVA films.

In addition, large-scale production of high-performance electronic chemicals for new generation power lithium batteries should also be realized, such as high specific energy, high voltage cathode materials, high capacity silicon-based negative electrode materials, doped coating and new lithium diaphragm, high voltage, wide temperature, flame retardant, long cycle electrolyte, etc.

New polyethylene glycol-based hydrogels developed by Institute of Chemistry

Recently, Wu Decheng, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tang Peifu, Director of Orthopaedics, General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, developed a four-arm polyethylene glycol medical sealant (SS) based on succinyl ester structure, which can be used to solve the hemostasis problem of patients receiving oral anticoagulants after orthopaedic or interventional surgery.

The hydrogel has rapid gelation, strong tissue adhesion and high mechanical strength, which is superior to the polyethylene glycol hydrogels and fibrin glues reported so far. More importantly, compared with the traditional four arm polyethylene glycol gel (SG) based on glutaryl ester, the SS sealant can be rapidly degraded. Subcutaneous and muscle implantation experiments have proved that SS has excellent biocompatibility and does not cause long-term foreign body reaction. Because of its excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility, the new SS sealant can accelerate wound healing without causing any side effects compared with the traditional SG gel and gauze.

The new polyethylene glycol-based hydrogel has excellent hemostatic properties and safety. It can be used as an anticoagulant for fibrin glue which can not stop bleeding. It is expected to be a simple, effective and safe sealant for traumatic hemostasis in vivo.
